What not to do at a breakfast

When someone in my department at work has a birthday, we have made it a tradition to go out to breakfast one day in that month. Well, last Friday, it was our big boss, the Vice President of Finance's birthday and she wanted to eat at Kozy Kitchen.

So here we are, stuffed from breakfast, sitting around having great conversations. Another one of my co-workers is leaving for Vegas today and she was talking about the kind of purse she will be carrying when she goes there.

And my story begins. I talk about how my mom bought a fanny pack the last time she went to Vegas so she wouldn't have to carry a purse around when she walked everywhere. This was probably two years ago. I didn't like that thing and I told her she should go return it to the store because it went out of style decades ago. She went ahead and used it. So I go on and on about this silly fanny pack for about 10 minutes laughing and making fun of it. In the midst of all this, I feel my supervisor kinda hit my on my leg and then later my other co-worker on my other side hit my leg too. I thought they were laughing with me. Little did I know that they were hinting at me to stop blabbing about the fanny pack.

Finally, our VP, who's birthday we are celebrating says... "I never liked carrying purses around but ever since I've started using my fanny pack I just love it because it holds everything for me." And right when she emphasized on fanny pack she looked right at me and started laughing. I turned SOOOOOOO red. I was so embarrassed because as soon as she said that it clicked, and I remembered the fanny pack around her waist.

It was definitely an innocent moment for me, but they said they weren't gonna let that one go. Luckily, my evaluation doesn't come up until September. Whew! Maybe they will forget by then.

Southwestern Stuffed Chicken

Tonight we celebrated one of my friend's 21st birthday at Ms. Hattie's. That is such a beautiful place and I've only ever been there one other time.

So on the menu is something called Southwestern Stuffed Chicken (or something fancy to make it sound appealing.) The first thing it said on the description was SPICY!!! But what does spicy really mean? There are so many things that are considered spicy and when I taste them, I can't taste anything spicy at all. Well, this chicken was stuffed with cream cheese (and who can resist that) and then breaded with bread crumbs and some kind of herbs. The plate looked beautiful when it came out and the chicken looked absolutely delicious. I wish I took a picture of it now.

Well, let me tell ya... They weren't kidding about SPICY. I think I have a high tolerance with spicy stuff, but this was HOT!!! Everyone kept asking me if it was good and I kept saying yes it is, but the truth is, it was too spicy that I couldn't even taste the rest of my food. But I think if it wasn't for that, it would have been REALLY good. So to this moment, about 3 hours later, I am still feeling the numbness in my mouth. I should've ordered the Rio Grande Chicken.

Bedtime story

Okay, that was a bit sarcastic. I really do have a story to tell.

Every night Diamond reads for about 3o minutes before going to bed. Last night, instead of reading on her own, she asked if she could read to me. She only had 10 pages left to finish the book and she was done. So I layed in bed listening to her read to me and before I know it, I was asleep. It was only a little after 9 and for anyone who knows me, that is too early for me to fall asleep. So my sweet, little baby read me a bedtime story for a change and somehow managed to tuck me in.

Um... I thought it was supposed to be the other way around.

Thank you dear Jesus for blessing me with a wonderful child.

Thanks for the reminder...

Tonight my friends reminded me that for about the past, almost month now, my blog continues to say "It's Friday. Woo-pee!" Well folks... that has now changed...

Tomorrow is Friday! Woo-pee!!!

He-he-he...
