You know you're ghetto when...

...you pull into a hotel parking lot - and sleep in the van. And when the sun comes out, you wake up the entire family and tell them it's time to wake up before anyone sees us.

I was the one driving during this, but in my defense... Well, we left San Angelo Friday after work heading to Pennsylvania. I thought, since we had 3 drivers, we would be able to just drive through the 26 hours. With one child and puppy, and 3 other adults who have 3 different types of bladders, this didn't work out too well. I decided to take over the driving at about 11. I was doing fine since I was able to nap during the start of our drive. The rain started pouring and followed us our entire trip up. It was about 3 am and I just couldn't take it anymore. It was raining way too hard and I couldn't see a thing. So I took the next exit and the only thing I see was a hotel. I pulled it and said I was just gonna close my eyes for a minute until the rain calmed down so we didn't have to check into the hotel... The sun was on the rise and my mom woke me up to get going. Uh, I guess I closed my eyes for a few hours - and so did the rest of my family!

Lesson Learned: Don't drive in the rain when you're overtired. Duh!
