Insane

I just drove past a gas station today and saw it was over $4.00 a gallon!!! What?!? We left here on Thursday night and it was still in $3.83 and in San Antonio only $3.79... What happened? I should've brought a barrel with me and filled it up there. This gas price thing is crazy!!! Pretty soon I'm not going to be able to afford even going to work.

Sheesh!!!

Road Trip

This weekend, Diamond and I went to San Antonio with a friend for a job fair. We had a blast. And surprisingly, we didnt' spend too much. We went to the Witte museum, shopped, and walked around downtown. We had a lot of fun. On Friday night, our friends took us to PF Changs. It was a Chinese restaurant, probably one of the best ones I've tried in a long time. It was so good that we still talked about it on the way home. One of our friends introduced us to lettuce wraps. If you ever eat there, I definitely recommend that appetizer. It was pick your own plate, but they placed the plates in the middle of the table to serve like family dining. All I can say is that it was delicious!

Chicken Fried Bacon

What do you picture when you hear that?

This is an appetizer on the menu at Catfish Corner. I've never eaten there, but one of my co-workers was telling us about it today. There is a little disclaimer under the name saying it is something only a true Texan would enjoy.

I must not be a Texan - because you know what I was picturing when I heard it? Clogged arteries... or maybe a heart attack. It just sounded gross. And when she described it, she was grossed out too. It's like chicken fried steak, but with bacon instead of "steak." And when she took a bite, grease poured out of it. Disgusting...

So, maybe, if you think you are a true Texan, you should try it... and tell me what you think.

All grown up

Diamond and I were hanging out at the visitor's center and I happened to have my camera with me. I took some pictures and when I put them on my computer, I realized she looked so grown up in them. She didn't look like a baby anymore, she actually looked like a girl - one who might soon have an interest in boys, one who might be asking to buy her a cell phone, one who will be wanting to learn how to drive, one who will want to hang out with friends instead of her mom... I don't know if I'm ready for all of that yet. But as for now, she's still 8. She's still my baby. And she still loves hanging out with mommy... (Thank God she's not into any of the other stuff!)

So here they are... the all grown up pics (and if you look real close, she is missing her both of her "chomper" teeth).

Did you know?

That today is the last day of May. Where did the time go? It just flew by and now summer is here.

What to do, what to do?!?

Hot!

Yeah, it's hot outside.

I don't want to be out there!

Goodbye POC...

POC - that is the name of the old Ford Focus I used to drive. I bought it when I first moved to San Angelo and have owned it ever since. It is the first car I have ever purchased myself. I was very proud of POC. But lately, POC had been giving me problems and although they might just be due to old age, I did not want to be with POC during her last moments. So I let her go.

And now, after many many years of waiting, I bought what I wanted. I got a new Rav4! I love it and I knew I would. It's not too big, but then not too small. I also did lots and lots of research on it before deciding on it and it seemed to get good reviews everywhere I read. So... I'm excited. It's nice and roomy and it drives so well... and the best part is... my brakes don't squeak anymore!

I should post a picture, but I haven't taken one of it. I should though while it's still nice and shiny.
